Two weeks ago, I began and completed the 3 day refresh nutritional program by Beachbody. The 3 day refresh is a great little program because of its versatility. It can be used as a Kick Start–just wanting to make a clean break from your eating habits that are not support your health and weight loss goals (my reason). Or it can be used as a monthly tune up–say to knock off 3 lbs and then keep the weight off with a good 4 to 5 weeks of healthy eating and then come back to Refresh again for another 3-4 lbs. Just think in 12 months you could account for 36 lbs of weight loss. Finally, some use 3 day Refresh to start a ultimate year of health–this a comprehensive approach which is called the “year of health” for a reason. You start with the 21 day Beachbody Ultimate Reset, then cycle (as tune ups) the 3 day Refresh quarterly so you are hitting fine tuning your eating habits every 3 months or as needed throughout the year.
My results were as expected. I lost three pounds, gained control over some bad eating habits, slayed some food demons and have since kicked off a 365 day water challenge replacing soda/pop as my drink of choice. Even in 2008-09, when I lost 50lbs from P90X and Insanity, did I ever give up pop as my drink of choice. So, I knew this would be a daunting task but something that needed to be done. The benefits of H20 I have documented on these pages before so not applying them consistently in my life was unsatisfactory. If I’m going to live at peak performance than I need to drink water.
If you are struggling with breaking bad food habits, need to slay a few food demons and rescue your diet from the fast food craze like me, I highly recommend the 3 day refresh. It helped me accomplish everything I wanted it too.
