Sometimes the hardest thing to do is just to begin. The actual Getting Started part slows us all down to the point of indecision. So whatever you do, keep reading, because by the end of this post you will have your plan and plans begin the execution phase and then we are doing something and that is a good thing. You will find below “The ROADMAP” to help you find out where are you located right now on your health and fitness journey and where you would like to go.
First, let me say, if you are reading this CONGRATULATIONS! You have made the decision to take control over your health and fitness. For the past three years, I have learned a lot about health,fitness, proper nutrition, and getting great results. In addition, I am a certified National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) and have helped many folks achieve their best results with Beachbody fitness and nutritional programs. OH, Where to begin?
First, choose a Beachbody program that fits what you like to do or you like the trainer or just fits your workout level today. We all begin this journey at different points and it is not where we begin but where we end that is the real success! There are different levels of programs. Next, you will want to choose me as your coach! CLICK HERE! Its FREE to do this and it entitles you to be a part of Team MOJO-X where you will be accountable, reach for your goals, learn from the others and follow my results and example to help you each and every step of the way to your success. I will customize and work with you individually on how best to achieve the goals that you would like. *note* if you buy a program or challenge pack I will automatically be assigned to you as your coach so you can skip this step.
Once you determine which program is good for you, then select just the program or the challenge pack?
For some of you just deciding to make the commitment in time and money to a workout program is enough for now. I can understand! I was the same way. If this you, then just pick your program and start there!
However, some of you, will want to jump in with both feet and get your ducks in a row, and save money in the process! This is called the “Challenge Pack“. Second, determine if you need any equipment for your workout program. P90X chin up bar, chin up max, Dumbbells? Bands?
Third, Nutrition, Nutrition, Nutrition! This is VALID. Don’t skip this step. This is vital. I will be the very first person to say my nutrition was not good in the beginning of my journey but I have come so far in the last three years that I would like everyone to start their journey with all my nutritional knowledge. I wish my coach when I started would have grilled me over and over that this step is vital because it is so VERY IMPORTANT! Tony Horton says, “Abs are made the kitchen” That is a very true statement. Many folks always talk about hard workouts and hard workouts are great but if you want the most cherished six pack or glistening eight pack or you want to improve your sports performance and take it to another level or you want to lose dramatic weight in a 3 month time period, nutrition will play a vital role. Fourth, Take your pictures, and log your workouts! Sometimes our scales at home can lie to us about how well we are doing in changing our body composition! Pictures will tell the truth.
Fifth, You NEED TO PLUG IN! This is the heart of Team MOJO-X & Team Beachbody. Its important to be part of a team. I have played high school athletics and have been around coaching most of my adult life and to be part of a team provides a wonderful foundation to what you are striving for and what you want to accomplish. This will be a hard journey. There will be ups and downs. There will be successes and failures. This team will help you succeed. I would not be where I am at without this team supporting each other and supporting me. It is vital and it is wonderfully fun. You will make lifetime friends because everyday day you helping other achieve their dreams and they are helping you achieve your dreams. It’s a beautiful thing people helping people. This team will help you stay accountable. It is a place to ask questions and get them answered and answer some questions that have been asked. So jump in a group, log your workouts, ask questions, what are you struggling with, what are you succeeding at! Share, embrace, help others in the group, everyone is an expert and we all learn from each other! It is our virtual classroom! Sixth, the Long and Winding Road. Success isnt Easy. Long road trips aren’t fun. This will involve a lot of hard work on your part. But it is rewarding. When you change your body, you will change your health, when you change your health, you will change your life and when you change your life you will start changing the lives of the people around you. That is a life well lived by paying it forward.
